Bookings

FULL RATE ACCOMMODATION (TMR)

Polihouse offers university students exclusively the possibility to book a bed in the Ghislanzoni and Fossoli campuses at the rates indicated on the website.

Note: Accommodation units equipped for people with disabilities are given priority to eligible applicants; however, if no requests are received, they may be booked by all students.

It is possible to make an annual or semester booking (first or second semester). Bookings for shorter periods are not available. The fee is calculated from the start of the semester/year until its end, regardless of the actual check-in date.
The available booking periods are:

Annual booking*
From 15 September to 15 July
First semester booking
From 15 September to 28 February
Second semester booking
From 1 March to 15 July

* Annual booking requests take priority over semester bookings.

Accommodation can be booked by:
Students enrolled or intending to enrol in a degree program at the Politecnico di Milano, Lecco campus;
International students participating in exchange programs at the Politecnico di Milano, Lecco campus.

From the booking opening date, places in Lecco are available for reservation, subject to availability, in accordance with the terms and procedures set out in the specific guidelines.

WARNING: If you are a student who is not yet enrolled at the Politecnico di Milano or are awaiting a visa, you can still book accommodation. However, in the event of non-enrolment or failure to obtain a visa, the accommodation booking fee will NOT be refunded.

The amounts shown in the price list are per person and include, in addition to the allocation of accommodation, utilities, the use of shared kitchens, and all services offered by the booked residence.
Each guest is required to pay a non-interest-bearing security deposit of €515 to Polihouse of which €15.00 is non-refundable and covers administrative costs.

During the booking process, you must choose one of the following payment methods:

Single payment
Payment of the full amount due (with a 5% discount), together with the security deposit (if not previously paid);;
Bimonthly instalments
Payment of the first of 5 installments for an annual booking or the first of 3 installments for a six-month booking, in addition to the security deposit (if not previously paid).

For both options, payments must be made no later than the indicated due dates, exclusively through the booking section of the website.

The booking will be considered confirmed upon receipt of the student’s first payment. Payment must be completed within 24 hours of the bed assignment; otherwise, the booking will be automatically cancelled. Final confirmation of the booking will be issued within 48 hours thereafter.

Failure to pay the instalment by the due date will result in a late payment penalty equal to 10% of the amount due. In the event of further non-payment, including both the instalment and the penalty, debt recovery procedures will be initiated, which may lead to the suspension of access to the accommodation.

Discounts & Subsidies

SUBSIDISED ACCOMMODATION UNDER THE RIGHT TO STUDY (DSU)

As a partner of the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR), Polihouse makes 30% of its accommodation available each year at subsidised rates for high-achieving students.

Places are awarded through a competitive selection process based on merit and income requirements. Students who are listed as beneficiaries in the final ranking are assigned a DSU subsidised place according to the rates established by the MUR. Any remaining unassigned places after the publication of the ranking will be made available at the full rate.

Applications must be submitted online via the polihouse.it website; users who are not yet registered must create an account on the portal.
At the time of application, it is necessary to select a preference for one of the campuses or for both. A separate ranking list is drawn up for each campus.

To confirm the allocation, it is necessary to:
– Pay a €515 security deposit (of which €15.00 is non-refundable and covers administrative costs);
– Accept the Campus Regulations.

WARNING: The accommodation must be accepted within 48 hours of the offer; otherwise, it will be considered declined.

The accommodation must be occupied within 15 working days of acceptance, otherwise it will be considered waived, with any amounts paid potentially being retained. Allocation is not automatically renewed: for subsequent years, a new application must be submitted in accordance with the established procedures.

Check in / Check out

To complete check-in, it is necessary to book an appointment by email at info@polihouse.it and present the following documents:
– A valid identity document;
– A passport-sized photo;
– For non-EU students: passport and residence permit, or proof of application for issuance or renewal of the document.

At the beginning of the stay, the guest signs a check-in report containing information on the condition of the accommodation and its furnishings, as verified at the time of handover. The guest must report any damage or issues within 48 hours of check-in; otherwise, they may be held responsible for them at check-out.

Accommodation in the campuses ends on 15 July, by which date guests must complete check-out and vacate the residence, following confirmation of the appointment for the room inspection. If guests are not present at the scheduled check-out inspection, the appointed staff will carry out the inspection without the tenant’s presence. In the event of any issues or damage, these will be charged to the guest, including any costs for extraordinary cleaning if required. Polihouse declines all responsibility for any damage to or loss of guests’ personal belongings.

WARNING: Guests are required to completely vacate the accommodation and remove all personal belongings (items left in the residence will not be returned). The accommodation must be returned clean and with all equipment in working order.

The check-out procedure includes:
– inspection of the accommodation’s condition by a member of the residence staff;
– signing of the check-out report by both the Polihouse Manager and the guest, confirming the condition of the accommodation.

Upon completion of the check-out procedure, and provided there are no outstanding rental payments or damages to property, facilities, or furnishings of the residence, the security deposit will be fully refunded by bank transfer within 30 days of check-out. Otherwise, after assessment and quantification of any charges, the deposit will be refunded net of such amounts. If the cost of damages is lower than the deposit amount, the corresponding sum will be withheld from the refund. If the cost of damages exceeds the deposit paid, the guest will be required to pay the difference.
